Google Worries about Spying

Maybe this is better late than never, but it would appear that Google all-of-a-sudden has a conscious about spying. And yet, here they are talking about how easy it is to track someone all the time using their software, and so forth. They say the technology to do so already exists and just needs to be lined up by the government. About time 1984 got here! Where's John Galt?

About "Your" Kids

From the article: We have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities. Feel free to watch the video as well. This is straight out of totalitarian books such as "We," "A Brave New World," and of course, "1984." But also, from the mouth of a news correspondent as well.

An NPR Tell-All about Labor

This is a very surprising - and journalistic - article from NPR. Although it is somewhat of a long article, the information found in this article is amazing to fathom. In short, nothing has improved with labor statistics; it has merely be moved around to look good. This ranges from welfare to disabilities and so forth. Give a read for interesting talking points in the future.

Fake Food Abounds in US [Forbes]

Seems were not as protected as we once thought on the food front. Forbes magazine has printed up a list of delicious meats and cheeses that are not properly labeled or completely fraudulent. One would expect the FDA or USDA to be jumping at the gun over this, but yet, they are actually complicit in this regard. Read to see why.

Wanted: Call of Duty Replacement

Black Ops II is no better than MW3. I have tried to tell myself that MW3 was just total and utter crap and that Blops 2 is the CoD savior, but it just isn't true. They are both equal in the amount of crap they pile upon the player. The game is so frustrating that I cannot play it on Sunday because of how often I take the Lord's name in vain. I figure that's more weekday talk.

That Facebook IPO

If you don't pay attention to the Stock Market, then you're probably a tad more sane than the rest of us. For the rest of us, here is an article citing the Top 10 things to be suspicious about regarding that IPO last week. Lots of people lost money in that fiasco, and we're sure more information will come down the pipeline regarding all that happened.

New York Times Blame FBI

This is a rather gutsy article from the Ol' Grey Lady, and we'll give them some credit for that. All those would-be terrorists that get caught by the FBI are curiously propped up by ... the FBI. In fact, in all cases mentioned, it seems the FBI found, abetted, and finally arrested these terrorists who evidently were useless without the FBI. Curious indeed.

George Washinton was Britain's Greatest Foe

Well this is more of a puff piece post for LP, but, since it involves George Washington, we thought we would post it for your review. Anyway, according to this article, George Washington has been named Great Britain's greatest foe ever! Not William the Conqueror, not Guy Fox, but our endearing national founder himself. Good show, ol' chap!

Less Press Freedom

If you live in "the land of the free," you may be a little surprised to hear that the US, between 2010 and 2011, fell 135% from their previous position of #20th, to #47 on the press freedom scale. Meanwhile, Canada took 10th place and Finland was #1. Isn't there a provision in the Bill of Rights about freedom of the press? What country are we, again?

Internet Blackout Day

If your regular web-surfing habits have been stymied today, it may be due to the web "blackout" that has been staged since this morning. This is in response to the SOPA & PIPA laws that have been proposed in our loveless congress. These are unabashed attempts to regulate the internet, which is the last true bastion of freedom, really.

The 8 Under-reported Stories of 2011

Best we keep things in perspective here. And just as before, there were some stories in this list that we didn't even know about. However, according to Alternet, these are the top 8 stories that were under-reported for 2011. Some of these stories will make you sad - just a warning to the sensative people out there.

Barney Frank Destroyes Economy

Uh, we're speechless about this article. There is such candid frankness that we can't even quantify it with any additional snarky comments - and that's saying a lot. For your reading pleasure, here is an article from the Washington Times that will leave your mouth agape. Incredible. Even for an editorial.

Diversity v. Equality

If you're college educated just like everyone here at LP, then you've probably been through the ringer of "cultural diversity" and "equality for all." The interesting point of those two philosophies is that they do not intersect. And here is a little article pointing out the flaw of this globalist push. Enjoy.

Facebook Shadow Profiles

This is another one of those facebook warnings that LP gives out regarding your information online. However, this time it comes with a twist; those of you NOT on facebook need to be warned as they [facebook] are compiling "shadow profiles" according to this article published today.

Anonymous v. NYSE

This could be huge, but until it happens, we're not putting it into the "news" section. Nevertheless, Anonymous has made a two minute video stating that on October 10th, they will be removing the New York Stock Exchange from the internet. Quite the undertaking with major implications to ... everyone. LP sits on the sideline, curious to see what becomes of this.

facebook: +800 Pages of Data per Account

We here at LP warned about this several times, but here is an interesting article alledging that facebook keeps a really long list of details about its users -- over 800 in fact. We'll say it again; the reason analysts value facebook at over $50 billion dollars is simple; it's about you and your information that you freely give away. It is a marketing haven!

China's "Financial Weapon" against the US

We'll put this under commentary since it is commentary albeit in the flagship newspaper of China; the People's Daily. In this translated article you'll note that China is considering to use the "financial weapon" to make certain the US starts behaving. Seems they aren't happy with our friendship with Taiwan, among other things.

Spiderman Dead: Long Live the (Gay) Aberration

We're not even going to count this as news as we're so disgusted with this "change": Spiderman is dead and has been reincarnated into a half-black, half-Mexican character. Now, that's not the big deal here. The real news is that he is potentially gay as well. Wonder how Mary Jane feels knowing she made him go gay? Say, she's on the rebound now, whoot!

The Murdoch Phone Hacking timeline

LP felt it was important to finally address this "phone hacking" story which has innundated the news agencies (who are delighted to see the father of Fox News in a bind). This article offers a long time line of events that eventually culminated with the apparent demise of Murdoch's empire. Oh, and the original whistle-blower has just died, too.

Anonymous has a Plan

Anonymous has posted a video regarding their "plan" which is a 3 part endeavour. Phase 1 already started, and phase two will be completed in November. Whatever your stance is with this hacker group, just bear in mind that at this point, it seems no one has been able to stop them. And they claim to be working on something big...

The MSM Turns a Blind Eye

These are the "top 12" under-reported or non-reported stories throughout the world that the mainstream media are ignoring. Some you may be aware of, but there were a few that even caught LP off-guard (no idea about the giant cracks or the FAA activity as of late). Read and impress your friends!

Interesting Article from ZeroHedge

Found this an interesting study: "What gets me nervous is that they could project on him because this man Obama was and remains a mirage.  An illusion.  Someone whose greatness exists only in the minds of those who adore him for reasons they cannot even articulate because it is simply not rational." Read away and see the parallels.
