Sniper Elite V2 Demo

Reposted by Conan for new LP member Nevadarain:

So I downloaded the demo when it became available, but only got around to trying it out last night.

As a qualifier, I played through the mission on the easiest difficulty to get a feel for the game itself, then started it again on the highest to see how different it was. That being said, here are my thoughts, in no particular order:

2012 Predictions from LoudPing

Last year we offered our first prediction ever, and from a non-investigative stance, it looks like we were over 50% correct. In about a week we'll review it and post the results for your scrutiny. But today, after a few email exchanges, we're ready to put our predictions online for anyone to criticize. Read on after the break.

Modern Warfare 3 Review(s)

We are edging close to a month since the highly vaulted MW3 has launched. At minimum, LP staff have collectively put in over a full week of gameplay for MP, although so far as I know, I am the sole player that has beaten the game. So, we figure we have enough data to do a decent review. And speaking for myself, I don't plan to go soft on this review.

Crackback's video game Holiday

One of our editors posted this on his blog: an insider's take on just how --and why -- the second Tuesday of November should be a holiday, and no, it has nothing to do with voting in another charlatan politician. We felt it was just snarky enough to repost here on LP for you to read. And we will have MW3 reviews up in a bit (but not soon as we'll need some time to assess).

Post Launch BattleField 3 Review

Yes, yes, we did a beta review of BF3 and we were negative about it. And frankly, the beta deserved it. However, 4 of our LP members have since bought the game, and we have an updated review for your reading pleasure. These reviews are plucked from our emails and posted here. They are frank and mostly unedited (some personal info removed). So...

Our BattleField 3 Review

We weren't going to do a review, honestly. We played the "true beta" game and figured it just wasn't our cup of tea. No reason to lambast something we weren't going to endorse at launch. But news is surfacing that EA is censoring reviews, so we'll add our two cents now.

Nikon Monarch Gold 1200 yard Rangefinder

Whether you are looking for an amazing hunter's tool for deer and elk season this year or you just want to climb a tower and practice aiming (he-he, joke... just a joke), I have found the product for you! I just recently purchased the Nikon Monarch Gold 1200 yard Rangefinder and I have nothing but positive things to say about it.

The 'Chinese Attack via Mexico' theory

Since we are easily amused by conspiracy theory, LP felt it was time to address one that has been getting a little more screen time these days: the impending Chinese attack on US soil via bases in Northern Mexico. Let's look at what we can establish.

Buster's Latest Vid

Just tooting our own horn, here. Buster has done it again with this newest montage. Click to enjoy an awful lot of Conan in action.

Montage Heyo!

And yet another nice video montage from Buster regarding our flawless CTF game in Black Ops. Who knew that my best acting would come from a playable character in a video game? I smell an Oscar in the wind!

LoudPing Presents...

Another Montage! Now, the point of these is to prove a little geekiness (which doesn't sound good) but also, the budding capabilities of LP staff. One day, we'll make a movie, but until then, enjoy what is presented.

LP's Take on 2011

Might as well throw our hat into the fray for predictions. And by "our" I mean predominantly "me" since I think all the other LP staff died from congenital STD's... or maybe that's a prediction too? More after the break!

Montage, ho!

So, as you may have gleaned off and on from the LP staff, we play video games besides ranting against poor government policy. And, we're pretty good at both. Thus, our own Buster has made some montage videos on youtube to tickle our respective egos. This other video of his is well edited and, frankly speaking, a bit catchy with its respective music. We'll continue to update LP with montage vids in to mitigate ego deflation.

Kinect Review

My pre-ordered Kinect arrived yesterday in a plain brown box belying the huge amount of fun inside.  Read on for my review of the hardware, some opinions about where it needs to go from here, and a short review of Kinect: Adventures, the pack-in game bundled with the Kinect hardware.

The Lesser of Two Evils

In a way, a huge sigh of relief was let out late Tuesday night. It really shouldn't matter your political leanings either, a balance was brought to the force. Unfortunately, "force" in this regard means government.

China Defaulting on some Cargo Payments

Frankly, we're taken aback a little by this article from cnbc: China is opting to defer or default on some payments for raw mineral cargos. China, who supposedly has over a trillion dollars in United States Treasury bond notes is opting to defer or default payment on materials. Edit: Add this article and the situation becomes a lot more dire than we have heard. Yikes! [Seriously.]

Why the Greek Exit Sucks for the Euro

So you may be wondering; "Who cares if the Greeks leave the Euro!" And that would be a fair question. So here is an article explaining the potential ruin of the Euro should the Greeks be forced out. On the other hand, if they stay in, then it will continue to devalue the Euro. So essentially, it could be one of those 'lose-lose' situations.

Bad Signs for the Olympics

In case you totally missed it, this summer the Olympics will be held in London. With it comes 32 bad omens that are looming on the horizon for participants and residents. Maybe China would like to reflect upon just how great the Olympics were for them? There happens to be a very large, empty "bird's nest" leftover from the events...

Slow Economic Collapse for China

WHile this isn't news to LP, seems the world is finally catching onto the next Titanic; China. From the article, [T]he hundreds of billions of dollars of stimulus China tossed at its economy sowed the seeds of trouble. And as we have seen, every country that has done some sort of economic bailout has not improved from such actions. China just delayed the inevitable.

Doom For Greece

Here is one of those challenging articles from Market Oracle regarding the continued crisis in Greece. Here's a snippit: Greece exiting the Euro-zone would crash the banking system as banks across the euro-zone start to fail domino style as a consequence of their direct exposure to 400 billion of Greek debt. Looks grim, and they give it 6 months or less.

Fitch Downgrades JP Morgan Chase

This really shouldn't be much of a surprise, but after declaring a minimum $2 billion loss and subsequent beating with their stocks, JP Morgan Chase was downgraded today. Of course, Fitch waited until after the closing bell to announce the downgrade from A+ to AA-, but still, rather significant. What is going on here with the biggest asset bank in the US...?

Former Doctor for Obama against Obamacare

President Obama's former doctor had some words regarding the Obamacare legislation. Surprisingly, it is all bad words. In fact, Dr. Scheiner says that it is a really bad idea and that it will cause more problems than solutions. Considering the monstrosity of a law (over 2000 pages), we're not convinced its a good idea either.

More Domestic Spies Now than during Cold War

Something to  keep you awake at night: A former top CIA covert officer who ran one of the spy agency's secret domestic networks says there are now more foreign spies on U.S. soil than at the peak of the Cold War. So aside from spying on obese citizens, what are these foreign spooks up to? What's the game-plan here, folks?

Sad Facts about America

And by America we mean the United States in America. Ever wonder if the USA is the latter-day Babylon? Hard to conceive, but after reading these 24 points, not too easy to dismiss either. We know there are a lot of good people within the boundaries of the US, but we really need to find our moral compass again.

China Looks to Invest Outside of EU

This could be substantial news that is being deliberately overshadowed by Obama's gay eureka moment. Nonetheless, the Chinese Investment Corporation is ceasing it's investments into the European Union. The CIC is controlled by the Chinese government, and this is $150 billion we're talking about. The EU may be limping along realy quick.

Caustic European Union Assessment

Ah, viva la France they say. But with their newest president - an ardent socialist with zero viable plans for economic stability - seems that living in France may not be so dainty in the near future. And just to bolster that claim, here is one of those pesky articles that points out just how bad it could get. And if the EU goes, don't expect a cake-walk for the US either.

Mish Shedlock's Economic Prognosis

Mish Shedlock is one of the few financial pontificators that we listen to - probably because he's in the Pacific Northwest like many of us (but not all). Anyway, the Daily Bell did a recent interview with Mish and got his analysis of what we can expect over the near future. Once you get past the pleasantries and background information, it's a good read.

The Empire Collapse

This is probably the most salient piece of writing to be posted on Business Insider. T'was a bit unexpected, from LP's perspective. Nonetheless, please rad over this piece about the collapse of the empire and the few options we have left of the table. The question will be - to where do we go next?

Nothing to Confirm Osama is Dead

Only posting this because it really irks LP down to their faith in the US government. Nonetheless, in an article from the Army Times - a Gannett Company - they state there is no evidence from the Pentagon to prove Osama is dead. In fact, they are completely devoid of relevant proof on the matter. No records to support it. None. Believe what you will...

New York Times Blame FBI

This is a rather gutsy article from the Ol' Grey Lady, and we'll give them some credit for that. All those would-be terrorists that get caught by the FBI are curiously propped up by ... the FBI. In fact, in all cases mentioned, it seems the FBI found, abetted, and finally arrested these terrorists who evidently were useless without the FBI. Curious indeed.
