Wanted: Call of Duty Replacement

Black Ops II is no better than MW3. I have tried to tell myself that MW3 was just total and utter crap and that Blops 2 is the CoD savior, but it just isn't true. They are both equal in the amount of crap they pile upon the player. The game is so frustrating that I cannot play it on Sunday because of how often I take the Lord's name in vain. I figure that's more weekday talk.

Black Ops 2 Review

Black Ops II (2) was pretty much like all the previous Call of Duty launches after stealing the thunder from the Halo crowd; mid-night launch, lots of "leaked" footage, and claims of "biggest pre-order in history" hoopla. And during the launch week, the non-disclosure agreements end and we get flooded with reviews, mostly based on a few hours of gameplay. Weak Sauce. Here is your free, several hours logged review from LP.

Sniper Elite V2 Demo

Reposted by Conan for new LP member Nevadarain:

So I downloaded the demo when it became available, but only got around to trying it out last night.

As a qualifier, I played through the mission on the easiest difficulty to get a feel for the game itself, then started it again on the highest to see how different it was. That being said, here are my thoughts, in no particular order:

2012 Predictions from LoudPing

Last year we offered our first prediction ever, and from a non-investigative stance, it looks like we were over 50% correct. In about a week we'll review it and post the results for your scrutiny. But today, after a few email exchanges, we're ready to put our predictions online for anyone to criticize. Read on after the break.

Modern Warfare 3 Review(s)

We are edging close to a month since the highly vaulted MW3 has launched. At minimum, LP staff have collectively put in over a full week of gameplay for MP, although so far as I know, I am the sole player that has beaten the game. So, we figure we have enough data to do a decent review. And speaking for myself, I don't plan to go soft on this review.

Crackback's video game Holiday

One of our editors posted this on his blog: an insider's take on just how --and why -- the second Tuesday of November should be a holiday, and no, it has nothing to do with voting in another charlatan politician. We felt it was just snarky enough to repost here on LP for you to read. And we will have MW3 reviews up in a bit (but not soon as we'll need some time to assess).

Post Launch BattleField 3 Review

Yes, yes, we did a beta review of BF3 and we were negative about it. And frankly, the beta deserved it. However, 4 of our LP members have since bought the game, and we have an updated review for your reading pleasure. These reviews are plucked from our emails and posted here. They are frank and mostly unedited (some personal info removed). So...

Our BattleField 3 Review

We weren't going to do a review, honestly. We played the "true beta" game and figured it just wasn't our cup of tea. No reason to lambast something we weren't going to endorse at launch. But news is surfacing that EA is censoring reviews, so we'll add our two cents now.

Nikon Monarch Gold 1200 yard Rangefinder

Whether you are looking for an amazing hunter's tool for deer and elk season this year or you just want to climb a tower and practice aiming (he-he, joke... just a joke), I have found the product for you! I just recently purchased the Nikon Monarch Gold 1200 yard Rangefinder and I have nothing but positive things to say about it.

The 'Chinese Attack via Mexico' theory

Since we are easily amused by conspiracy theory, LP felt it was time to address one that has been getting a little more screen time these days: the impending Chinese attack on US soil via bases in Northern Mexico. Let's look at what we can establish.

Buster's Latest Vid

Just tooting our own horn, here. Buster has done it again with this newest montage. Click to enjoy an awful lot of Conan in action.

Montage Heyo!

And yet another nice video montage from Buster regarding our flawless CTF game in Black Ops. Who knew that my best acting would come from a playable character in a video game? I smell an Oscar in the wind!

LoudPing Presents...

Another Montage! Now, the point of these is to prove a little geekiness (which doesn't sound good) but also, the budding capabilities of LP staff. One day, we'll make a movie, but until then, enjoy what is presented.

LP's Take on 2011

Might as well throw our hat into the fray for predictions. And by "our" I mean predominantly "me" since I think all the other LP staff died from congenital STD's... or maybe that's a prediction too? More after the break!

Montage, ho!

So, as you may have gleaned off and on from the LP staff, we play video games besides ranting against poor government policy. And, we're pretty good at both. Thus, our own Buster has made some montage videos on youtube to tickle our respective egos. This other video of his is well edited and, frankly speaking, a bit catchy with its respective music. We'll continue to update LP with montage vids in to mitigate ego deflation.

The Assault on Freedom of the Press

Interestingly, the Obama administration has prosecuted more journalists than all other presidential administrations combined. This, from your "more transparent" leader; his words, not ours. But it is the prosecution of James Rosen via tracking his every movie, getting warrants for his private correspondence, and so forth, that is truly dizzying for the First Amendment.

The Scandal of the IRS Scandal

Thankfully someone is asking the harder hitting questions about this IRS scandal, unfortunately, it's the alternative media with little to no fanfare. Still, why is no one asking about how the IRS was used to attack political enemies of President Obama? Sure, it's a scandal that they did it, but it is a bigger scandal that it was allowed to happen at all, or even directed to happen.

No Cheap Production in China Soon

Nipping at the heals of our previous post, here is the next doom scenario for China: due to a raise in the minimum wage which is mandatory for 2020, China is no longer the cheapest labor supplier. Seems the other Asian countries are benefitting from this with increased manufacturing in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar, to name a few.  Check your labels accordingly.

China Slowing Down

Hmm, looks like some bad news for China. Looking at the data, it would appear that China will not be overtaking the US as the world's next global super power til next century.  You're welcome to check the math, but if all things remain constant, then the US will still be number one for quite a while. Or it'll all crash tomorrow. That's what is so fun living today.

Less Employed Now than 3 Years Ago

So goes the claim from the internet constant doom propagandist "the Economic Collapse" blog. Although, it isn't too hard to fathom that there are less workers now than previously. The only reason the unemployment number has gone down is due to shady accounting for people who dropped off the rosters altogether.

Google Worries about Spying

Maybe this is better late than never, but it would appear that Google all-of-a-sudden has a conscious about spying. And yet, here they are talking about how easy it is to track someone all the time using their software, and so forth. They say the technology to do so already exists and just needs to be lined up by the government. About time 1984 got here! Where's John Galt?

Pricing Scandal Conspiracy

A little bit of vindication for the conspiracy theorists from an unlikely source; Rolling Stone magazine has published a story about how a global cartel has been price fixing products for a while. Though it would appear this cartel is banks, working in conjunction with brand-name companies. All good fun we assume.

The Study for Happiness

We found this article worth repeating, especially in these days; a 75 year study that cost over 20 million dollars and resulted in some answers as to where happiness lies. Many of the points you could say, "well duh," but now you have science to back up that claim as well. Oh, and alcohol and cigarettes are bad for marriage.

GOP Helps ObamaCare

They say its a two party system, and if you're blind and deaf, you probably believe that. Anyway, here is a link to the Republicans fast-tracking a bill to help bolster the ObamaCare Act. Yep, the Republicans are actively helping make the "Affordable Care Act" come to life and stay alive. Don't trust anyone in DC anymore.

NY State Subpoena's Psychiatrists

After the highly controversial and unConstitutional gun laws were passed in New York state, today we get word that the State is issuing subpoena's to psychiatrists asking for information on patients that are on medication and/or depressed. Seems the agenda to confiscate is moving along just peachy.

ACLU Sides with NRA

Must be living in some sort of bizarro world these days. Plucked from Yahoo News, it would appear that the American Civil Liberties Union is taking sides with ... the National Rifle Association. Time will tell if they actually do come out and support the NRA, but at this point, we're not sure what world we live in.

About "Your" Kids

From the article: We have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities. Feel free to watch the video as well. This is straight out of totalitarian books such as "We," "A Brave New World," and of course, "1984." But also, from the mouth of a news correspondent as well.

The ObamaCare "tax" Issue

Remember when the Supreme Court betrayed America - okay, more specifically - with the ruling on ObamaCare, that it was a "tax" and therefore legal? Well the good ol' Constitution says all taxes, i.e., revenue generating income for the government, has to originate with the House of Representatives. Which is the point of a new lawsuit, the "tax" came from the Senate, not the House. Oops.

Legislation Against Pro-Gun Sheriffs

There are roughly 350 sheriffs across the country that have adamently stepped up to the challenge against gun-control. And now there are pockets of legislation popping upon across the country to have these sheriffs removed. Of course, it isn't gun-control, it is controlling people's freedoms. Or in this case, the protectors of freedom.

An NPR Tell-All about Labor

This is a very surprising - and journalistic - article from NPR. Although it is somewhat of a long article, the information found in this article is amazing to fathom. In short, nothing has improved with labor statistics; it has merely be moved around to look good. This ranges from welfare to disabilities and so forth. Give a read for interesting talking points in the future.
